Tenant participation has a long tradition in housing associations, dating back over 30 years. As part of this process, a tenants‘ council is elected. All tenants are eligible to vote once per household. The tenants‘ council is elected for each district and consists of a company-wide tenants‘ council, up to three district-level tenants‘ councils, and one representative each for tenants with disabilities or a migration background.

The next tenants‘ council election will take place next year, and we are already looking for new candidates who would like to stand for election.

What does the tenants‘ council do?

• He represents the ideas and interests of the tenants.
• He can contribute to projects related to housing (e.g., improving the living environment).
• It is intended to strengthen community life https://activities.jlu.edu.in/ in the neighborhood.
• He sends two members to the supervisory board of Wohnbau Gießen.
